Rhizomatous, tufted perennial, grass-like or herb (sedge), 0.4–0.6 m high. Fl. brown, Apr–Jun. Loam, red sandstone and quartzite. Damp habitats, pools, drainage lines, claypans. Distribution: N: CK, DL, NK, OVP, VB.
