Green marine subtidal alga, epilithic or in sand, to 15 cm tall; base stoloniferous, terete, naked, to 1 mm diam.; upright fronds to 8 mm broad, terete below, compressed above; lateral ramuli opposite-distichous, to 3 mm long, curved, with a broad tip. Distribution: SW: GS, SWA.

Thallus: Epilithic or in sand, medium to dark green, with stoloniferous prostrate axes bearing upright fronds to 15 cm in height and 8 mm broad. Stolons terete, naked, to 1 mm in diameter, attached to the substratum by fine rhizoidal branches. Upright branches terete near the base, becoming compressed above, bearing closely set, determinate lateral ramuli in an opposite-distichous pattern. Ramuli to 3 mm long and 0.5 mm broad, slightly compressed, upwardly curved, broadest above a slightly constricted base and distally tapering to a broad point.

Structure: Coenocytic (composed of a single cell), mostly hollow but with internal ingrowths from the wall.
