Tree (mallee, rarely), to 40(–60) m high, bark rough, tessellated. Fl. white, pink, Dec–May. Red-brown clay loam, orange-brown sandy clay, gravel, grey sand over limestone, granite, laterite. Flats, hills, slopes, breakaways, wetlands, fringing salt marches, beside drainage lines. Distribution: ER: PIL; SW: AW, ESP, GS, JF, SWA, WAR.
